In 2015, a global automotive parts company launched a relocation project to move their Asia Pacific headquarters to Shanghai. SL+A was commissioned to create the concept design and implement construction with the CBRE team within a 5 week timeframe. The new office space meets the needs of diverse teams housed on two levels connected by an ultramodern internal staircase, with the familiar blue and yellow brand colours serving as a welcome sight on the main floor. Throughout the office, high-shine surfaces and sculpted curves evokes excitement of the racetrack and captures the spirit of competition. The addition of phone booths, quiet rooms, collaboration areas and spacious workstations provides 300+ employees with several options to meet, collaborate and achieve the company’s ONE TEAM Driving Performance strategy. SL+A managed to complete the office relocation project within budget and on time without compromising its design implementation.
